BALOO Training Classes

Apr 13, 2010 by

B. A. L. O. O.  Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation Below are the ONLY TWO REMAINING BALOO classes for spring 2010 BALOO training is for any parent, with or without camping experience. During the training you will learn what constitutes an acceptable campsite for Cub Scout Family Camping, what activities are considered age appropriate for your campout in addition to learning some simple cooking ideas and getting information on equipment and how to set up a campsite. You’ll also learn about BSA’s Health and Safety requirements and get some first hand experience in planning a campout program for your pack.

YOUR CUB SCOUTS ARE THINKING ABOUT CAMPING!

IS YOUR PACK READY?

The Boy Scouts of America requires that any Cub Scout Pack conducting a Pack Family Campout have a BALOO trained parent not only instrumental in the planning of the campout but this parent must also be present during the entire campout period.

Is your Pack planning a Pack campout this year?

Does your pack have several BALOO trained leaders? If not, your pack needs to get a few of your parents to attend BALOO training so your Pack’s campout will go off without a hitch.

It is strongly suggested that Packs have at least 3 or more BALOO trained parents.

Listed below are the BALOO training opportunities available council-wide through the end of the 2010 school year:

If your District is not listed above, please contact your District Training Chair or your District Executive to find out if BALOO training is being offered in your District. You can also check the Council’s Training Website for additional information. As more information is received, it will be added to future announcements. All districts are asked to send their complete training schedules to Nell Colbert at necolbert@usa.net ASAP so that information for all districts can be include in future training promotional announcements.

NOTE – some districts may have attendance caps so don’t wait until the last minute to register and please remember – a scout is courteous: if you will not be able to attend a training session for which you register, please remember to cancel your registration so that your slot may be opened up to someone else who would like to attend.
