Council

  • Journey To ExcellenceScouting’s “Journey to Excellence” is the new performance measurement and recognition program for councils, districts, and units that replace the Centennial Quality program.  For more information, please visit this link to find out the “Journey to Excellence” Requirements!
  • Council & Eagle Scout Banquet – June 10, 2011 at Lake Buena Vista Resort.  Council Banquet Online Registration Link!
  • Orlando City Soccer Scout Day – June 18, 2011 new United Soccer League team in Orlando.  This event will start approximately at 5pm with Soccer Stations for Cub Scouts to work on the Socc er Belt Loop and improving their Soccer Skills.   Tickets admission including the Soccer Stations and Orlando City Soccer Scout Day Patch will be $10 (General Admission Tickets) or $15 (Reserved Tickets) per person.  Also, you may add on meal plan.   Flyer is available for download:   Orlando City Soccer Scout Day Flyer

Cub Scouts 

  • Cub Spring Events- The important th ing to stress is that all Cub Spring events have new activities for scouts to do and we are only offering specific activities at certain events such as Canoeing. All the Cub event information is available online.   
  • Scout Show- April 30th  at Bright House Networks Stadium @ UCF
  • Summer Explosion-May 13-15- The focus is on Aquatics and all water related activities for Cub Scouts and their families to enjoy the Florida outdoors at Camp La-No-Che!  Don’t miss out on great fun and excitement when hundreds of Cubs gather to enjoy Camp La-No-Che at the Leonard & Marjorie Williams Family Scout Reservation!
  • Day Camp- The best thing a Cub Scout can do all summer!!  Districts are providing Day Camp summer program with a theme of “Myths & ; Monsters” from June – July!
  • Training- All Cub packs should make sure all leaders in their Pack are trained.

 Venturing

Key tasks at Roundtable besides promotion

  • Aquatics Supervision – replaces BSA Lifeguard for units.  Adult and/or Scouts 16 years old and older must be trained in Water & Rescue Safety for swimming-water activities and Paddle Craft Safety for all boating.  (Handout)
  • Tour Plan changing as of March 1st.  Review handout on new guidelines and you can download the plan at www.cflscouting.org as of March 1st.  All Tour Plans will now be approved at Council.  Also, it is required when a unit is participating in Aquatics, Shooting Sports or Climbing whether in council or out of council, a Tour Plan must be submitted.   
  • Camping- Sign up Troops for presentation on Camp La-No-Che and promote District Camporee
  • Activities- Promote Cub Day Camp and Cub Spring Events. Promote District Pinewood Derby
  • ;   Scout Show- Have Units turn in Commitment form for discount cards and booths
  • Training- Promote district and council training activities. It’s time to start to promote the District Award of Merit and Silver Beaver.
  • Advancement- promotes online Advancement and encourages all units to turn in reports.  Also promote Internet Advancement.
