Direct Contact Leaders Training

The SAFETY of our youth is of utmost importance and trained leaders deliver a safer program to our scouts.

The QUALITY of our program leads to better RETENTION of both our Scouts and our Leaders. Trained leaders deliver a better quality program to our scouts.

We all are trained for our jobs in our chosen careers so why not get the training for your scouting “job” that will make your life easier as you work with your scouts. The Scouting program changes over the years so just like we take continuing education classes for our professions, we need to periodically update our Scouting training.

Plus, attending scout training classes is FUN and it provides a fantastic opportunity for you to network with other leaders who are holding the same position you do and who may have already faced and successfully dealt with the challenges you may be facing now! AND all these new friends you make at training become wonderful resources to help you with your unit in the future!

Effective with the October 2011 recharter,

All direct contact leaders in Central Florida Council must be fully trained for their position in order for them to be rechartered for 2012!

An untrained leader working with our youth is simply unacceptable as the BSA moves into its second hundred years!

Please don’t wait until the last minute to get the training you need to be a great leader!

Please remember that some classroom and outdoor training courses required as part of basic leader training for some direct contact positions may be offered only a few times during the year so please don’t wait until the end of the year to look for the training you need.

If you need on-line training, you’ll have better success accessing the eLearning system over the summer when that system is not as busy as it will be in the fall with all of the newly recruited leaders trying to complete their required trainings.

For a complete listing of all classroom and outdoor training opportunities, please check the Training page on the Central Florida Council website:
