The information below is compiled from information provided to the Council Training Committee before October 15th. If you are a new Cub Scout leader or you have changed positions in your unit since your last training, here’s a wonderful way to make sure that your son and his friends have a fantastic program – attend the training you need so that you will have a better time as a leader and your scouts will have more FUN!
Remember – every boy deserves a trained leader.
Prior registration for all training sessions is REQUIRED in order to allow each training team to adequately prepare handouts and other materials used during the trainings. Please remember too that a scout is Courteous: If you register for one of the training sessions below and then find that you will not be able to attend, please be courteous and cancel your reservation. Many districts have class size limits so by removing yourself from the participant list, you will open your slot for someone who might be on a waiting list and could fill your seat.
Scouters are encouraged to attend training in any district – just pick a date and location that is convenient for you and register for that training as noted below.
Cub Scout Leader Position Specific Training is the next to last step in your basic training beyond the on-line training opportunities including Fast Start, Youth Protection. After position specific, you have only one more on-line session called This is Scouting. Every leader needs to take the position specific training for your position in Cub Scouting, regardless of your prior training or experience. Position Specific training is required in order to complete your basic training to be considered fully trained for your position and eligible to wear the trained strip on your uniform. Position specific training should be taken each time you change positions in your unit.
