The Gauntlet-Base Camp

The Gauntlet is the most advanced High Adventure program developed bringing advanced urban and wilderness survival with leadership training together in a multi faceted program.

The Gauntlet employs the Wilderness as the class room using best practices of Wilderness Survival Training, Field Craft, Camping Craft, Physical Fitness, Peer to Peer Coaching, Leadership/Fellowship Development, and team building dynamics all focused on helping the participants define a personal moral compass for living.

The Gauntlet Base Camp program and scenarios cover the fundamental, static “survival in place” situation where basic emergency wilderness survival & life protection sk ills are required to deal with common emergencies in the field and endure an unexpected overnight in the backcountry under varying conditions.

All participants are expected to arrive on time, with all required equipment (list on right), and ready to learn. Those participants desiring to earn the BSA Wilderness Survival Merit Badge during the weekend event are strongly encouraged to study the appropriate BSA Merit Badge

Pamphlet (#35966) to review requirements and prepare ahead of time. Additional supplies/equipment and materials will be provided to all participants on site as required.

The Gauntlet Base Camp and programs that follow after Base Camp challenge you physically including short hikes carrying your gear.

We expect all participants to adhear to the honor system, self discipline and be ready to experience field craft education from some of the best minds in the country.< span style=”font-size:14.0pt;font-family:”Adobe Caslon Pro”,”serif”;”>
